Mayank Markande, an Indian cricketer who represented his country in short-format International cricket, was born on November 11, 1997, in Bathinda, Punjab, India. And he is best known for his participation in the IPL, first-class cricket, and domestic cricket for the Punjab team.

Mayank made headlines in 2018 when he used his googly ball to dismiss Chennai Super Kings captain ‘MS Dhoni’ by LPW in his first IPL season.

Career

He made his short format cricket debut for the Punjab team on 14 January 2018 with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and has taken 43 wickets in 43 T20 matches with a 7.23 economy rate.

Following that, he made his List A debut against Bengaluru in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 7, 2018, and he bowled 83 wickets in 53 List A matches at an economy of 4.55.

Mayank made his first-class debut for the Punjab team in the Ranji Trophy on November 1, 2018, and was the Ranji Trophy’s highest wicket-taker that year, with 29 wickets in 6 matches.

IPL career

Mayank was named to the Mumbai Indians team for the first time in the IPL season 2018 with a base price of 20 lakhs, and he made his IPL debut against the Chennai Super Kings, taking three wickets, the biggest of which was Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

After that, he was a member of the Mumbai Indians until 2019, when he was released, and then he joined the Rajasthan Royals for the 2020 IPL season, where he remained until 2021 before being released.

Then he was re-signed by the Mumbai Indians for 65 lakhs in the IPL mega auction 2022, and he will be seen playing with the IPL Mumbai Indians once more.

Mayank made his international cricket debut for India in a T20I match against Australia on February 24, 2019. And he didn’t get a single wicket in his debut game.
