Marlon Nathaniel Samuels is a Jamaican former cricketer who was born on February 5, 1981, in Kingston, Jamaica. He was born to parents Daphne Samuels and Philip Samuels, and he has an older brother named Robert Samuels, who is also a former international cricketer.
Marlon is currently 42 years old, and prior to becoming a professional, Marlon obtained his education from Kingston College. Despite being born a Jamaican, he played internationally for the West Indies in all three formats. He was a former ODI captain and mostly played as a right-handed middle-order batsman as well as an off-spinner and his net worth stands at $7 million.

Back in 2005, Marlon Samuels scored his highest first-class score of 257 runs during the West Indies tour of Australia. One of the most notable moments of his career was when he scored his first Test century against India in the 2002–03 series at Kolkata. During the same tour, Marlon scored his first ODI century at Vijayawada. He scored 108, not out of just 75 balls. His score helped the West Indies secure a draw in that match. Back in 2007, the Indian police alleged that Marlon Samuels leaked out team information to a bookie named Mukesh Kochcha. The police made the allegations based on taped telephone conversations between the two. Marlon reportedly leaked the information prior to the 1st ODI between the West Indies and India at Nagpur. Following the allegations, he received a 2-year ban from international cricket. Later the following year, in 2008, Marlon got suspended from bowling in international cricket due to an illegal bowling action.
