Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. The former took over his social media account to address his decision but in an MS Dhoni style. 

Jadhav wrote on his X (formerly Twitter), “Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket.”  Let us dive into now retired player’s professional and personal life.

Who is Kedar Jadhav? 

Kedar Jadhav is a former cricketer from India who was born on March 26, 1985, in Pune Maharashtra. The 39-year-old stands 5 ft 4 in (163 cm) tall.

Originally from Jadhavwadi in Madha, in the Solapur district, he was born into a middle-class family. 

Kedar has scored 1389 runs in 73 ODIs including two centuries and six half-centuries. He also scored 122 runs in nine T20 Internationals with a half-century. He took 27 wickets in ODIs and played 95 matches in IPL career. He scored 1208 runs with four half centuries.

In the IPL auction 2021, the Hyderabad franchise acquired the services of Kedar Jadhav for Rs 2.00 Cr and on May 2023, he played his last IPL match against Mumbai. He has a net worth of $1-5 million.

A look at Kedar Jadhav’s career 

It all started at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana. The former Indian National cricketer is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-spin bowler. He often played as a wicketkeeper. 

He used to play in the Indian Premier League for the Delhi Daredevils, Chennai Super Kings, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Jadhav made his debut for India in a One Day International (ODI) match against Sri Lanka on November 16, 2014. He made his Twenty20 International debut for the same squad against Zimbabwe on July 17, 2015.

He came in at number seven on The Times of India’s 2017 list of Maharashtra’s Top 20 Most Desirable Men. In the 2018 Asia Cup Final, he scored 23 runs and stayed to watch his nation’s side win the trophy for the eighth time.

After making his debut on the international level in 2014, the former Indian player went on to appear in 73 ODIs and 9 T20Is for the country. In those games, he scored 122 runs and 1389 runs, respectively.

In an Auckland encounter against New Zealand in 2020, he made his final appearance for India while wearing the Indian shirt. In 2019, he participated in the England World Cup as well.

Jadhav was purchased by Sunrisers Hyderabad in February 2021 for INR 2 crores during the Indian Premier League auction, ahead of the 2021 season. The player went unsold in the 2022 edition.
