The final day saw Japan dominate the women’s competition, getting both gold medals on offer. Okamura Mana and Ashikawa Urara took first and second place on the balance beam, while Kokofugata Azuki won gold on the floor exercise. In the men’s Cottbus World Cup competition, Artur Davtyan of Armenia won the gold medal on the vault, performing a front handspring, double front half out with a stuck landing as his first vault, and a front handspring, two-and-a-half twist with a small hop as his second run. Meanwhile, Illia Kovtun of Ukraine continued his parallel bars dominance, winning his fifth-straight World Cup title on the apparatus.

Kovtun faced a stacked field of competitors, including six-time World medallist Carlos Yulo of the Philippines, two-time Olympic medallist Kaya Kazuma of Japan, and Olympic bronze medallist Ferhat Arican of Turkey. However, he managed to emerge winner with a score of 15.366 after executing a nearly stuck double front dismount. Italy’s Matteo Levantesi won silver with a score of 15.266, while Yulo took the bronze with a score of 15.166.

The first women’s final of day one, the vault, saw Italy’s Manila Esposito claim gold with a 13.233. She vaulted a Yurchenko one-and-a-half and a Podkopayeva. Team GB’s Ruby Evan was second (13.183) with Chusovitina’s 13.016 in third.

On the uneven bars, Italy’s Alice D’Amato won the gold medal by nearly a full mark and her clean and stylish routine included a daring stalder to piked Tkatchev to Bhardwaj combination to score 14.500. Germany’s Meolie Jauch earned a 13.533 for silver and was followed by the Netherland’s Tisha Volleman (12.900).

Abdulla Azimov took the pommel horse title with a 14.866, just ahead of Armenia’s Gagik Khachikyan, who posted a 14.833 and Nariman Kurbanov of Kazakhstan scored 14.800 to complete a narrowly separated podium.

Kovtun’s win in Cottbus World Cup was a continuation from the 2022 World Cup season, where he swept the series’ four gold medals on the apparatus. The Ukrainian world medallist has established himself as one of the top gymnasts in the world and will be a strong contender in the upcoming events.

The high bar gold went to Japan’s Kawakami Shohei, who scored a 14.266. His routine included Cassina and Kolman double-flipping catch-and-release moves and a double-twisting, double layout dismount. Italy’s Carlo Macchini was second, with Kaya close behind in third place.
