Ever since the streaming giant Netflix have announced the release date of Copycat Killer, Asian fans can’t seemed to contain themselves.

If you’re unversed, let us tell you, the plot of the series is somewhat taken from a well-known crime thriller which is written by a Japanese author Miyuki Miyabe.

The upcoming series of the streaming giant is a Taiwanese serial killer drama which is set in 1990s. It revolves around the story of a first-ever serial murder case in Taiwan.

The killer is being chased by an austere prosecutor. The chase is somewhat turned out into a game of cat and mouse as the killer takes advantage of the widespread coverage while mocking the law and justice.

Release Date

For those who are curious about the release date of Copycat Killer, let us tell you, the crime thriller is scheduled to be out on Friday, March 31, 2023 globally on the streaming giant Netflix.

Earlier, Netflix Asia dropped the trailer of the series, which showcased us the glimpses of what the series will look like.

Plot

The show’s plot was inspired on a well-known crime novel by Miyuki Miyabe, albeit certain changes were made to make it more appropriate for the show.

The idea of “Copycat Killer,” as suggested by Netflix’s official synopsis, is as follows, “The media-savvy serial murderer exploits the overwhelming interest to turn the investigation into a national spectacle, igniting rumours and infamy. A tough prosecutor swears to crack the case only to discover that nothing is as it seems. As he attempts to undermine law and order in society, the killer continually makes fun of the rule of law and the court system.”
