In Week 10 of the NFL 2022 season, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp suffered a right ankle injury in the fourth quarter of the team’s 27-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Despite avoiding a serious ankle injury, the 29-year-old will be out for a while, according to NFL Network. He most likely went for an MRI on Monday to establish the severity and a schedule.
With 14:18 left and the Rams losing 17-10, the Super Bowl MVP fell awkwardly while attempting to catch a ball from John Wolford that was thrown too high. He came down on his right leg. The wide receiver was noticeably upset as he staggered to the locker room after only managing three catches for a net loss of one yard.
Trainers attended to Kupp while he lay on the sidelines and then he hopped to the bench without placing any weight on his leg. With 12:44 left to play, he somehow managed to make it back to the locker room. He did not come back.
Kupp is likely to miss for a while.
Since the Los Angeles Rams have already had their bye week, Cooper Kupp will be forced to miss games if his condition doesn’t improve quickly. In the best-case scenario, he comes back in a week or two.
However, according to reports, the typical recovery period for high ankle sprains is between 15 and 46 days. According to NFL.com, N’Keal Harry, a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears, would need around six weeks to heal. Los Angeles and fantasy managers who have Kupp on their team have now suffered a severe setback. Christian McCaffrey, a Carolina Panthers player from the previous season, sprained his ankle in Week 12. He was disqualified from the 2021 campaign.
In the loss to San Francisco last month, Cooper Kupp sustained an ankle injury, but he did not miss any time on the field. This season, he has 75 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns. He led the NFL in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns the previous season.
