1. FIFA Corruption Scandal
FBI a few years back caught a total of 14 officials from FIFA, this incident degraded the reputation of FIFA to a great extent. The charges behind arresting them were because of the $100 million bribes they took from countries in return for giving them a chance to host the FIFA World Cup.
2. Andres Escobar Murder
Columbian football team captain Andres Escobar was laid to death after losing a match. It is believed that a drug mafia is behind his murder, he murdered him because he lost a lot in betting because of Columbia’s defeat.
3. Bruno Fernandes Arrest
A well-known and skilled goalkeeper from Brazil “Bruno Fernandes” was arrested because he denied paying the expenses of his child from his girlfriend. He kidnapped his girlfriend and later on killed her. Later on, he got released from jail by filling numerous petitions but still is not considered a decent player.
4. Racism in Champions League
During a PSG VS Istanbul match, players from both ends walked away from the pitch in between a match because of some racist comments made by the Romanian coach on the Istanbul coaches. Thankfully the argument didn’t turn out to be ugly and was resolved smoothly by both teams.
5. Karim Benzema
The forward player from the Real Madrid club was arrested for having sex with a prostitute who was underage. This prostitute accused him of a number of charges. Also, he has once blackmailed a team member by illegally obtaining his tapes from somewhere.
