The Notorious One took a moment this Tuesday to add fuel to fire in his UFC 264 rivalry with Dustin Poirier when he shared a screenshot on Twitter of the latter’s wife sliding into his DMs on Instagram. Read on to see the screenshot and know more.

Conor McGregor decided to get personal ahead of UFC 264 this Tuesday. He posted what appeared to be a direct message (DM) request from opponent Dustin Poirier’s wife, Jolie Poirier. Having a mic-drop moment on social media, which if proven authentic could make MMA trolls go crazy, The Notorious One lived up to his nickname yet again. Letting the action of Poirier’s wife speak for itself, he left no note with the screen grab.

Conor McGregor (27-6 MMA) and ‘The Diamond’ Dustin Poirier (19-5 UFC) are tied at one win apiece in their series. McGregor finished Poirier with punches during their UFC 178 match in Round One. Then, seven years later, at UFC 257 this past January, The Diamond turned the tables and took his revenge as he knocked McGregor out midway through Round Two.

The two will now throw down for a third time to settle their series in the main event which will take place at UFC 264 in front of a packed house at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, 10th July, 2021. While Dustin and Conor had entered their second fight as established veterans with mutual admiration and respect for each other, their dynamic ahead of the third fight has turned a bit pugnacious.
McGregor had regressed to his old personality with respect to Poirier even before posting this screenshot. He had suggested recently that if Poirier wrestles in the trilogy fight he will be “a dusty b*tch.” In response, had said last week that it “reeks of insecurity,” which had led to yet another scathing response from McGregor. .
In another incident, McGregor had pointed out in an Instagram Live that Poirier had been talking some amount lately. The Irish boxer promised he would make Poirier eat his words soon enough. “He’s going to pay for that, that’s for sure. It’s not going to be nice.”
