This report details the “Community Connect” event organized by the Programme Coordinator Dr Anshu Arora and led by MAJMC B section 4th Sem and BAJMC A section of 6th Sem, students, Amity School of Communication

The event leveraged the power of media to raise awareness and advocate for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Introduction

The Amity School of Communication hosted a successful event titled “Community Connect” on 21st March 2024. This student-led initiative under the guidance of Dr. Anshu Arora, Associate Professor, ASCO, aimed to harness the potential of media as a tool for positive societal change, focusing on the UN’s SDGs – a set of ambitious targets designed to achieve a sustainable, equitable, and just world.

Event Objectives

Raise awareness about the UN’s SDGs among the community.
Encourage dialogue and critical thinking regarding crucial social and environmental issues.
Empower individuals to contribute towards achieving the SDGs within their communities.

Event Activities

Informative Sessions: Students delivered well-researched presentations, podcasts, and documentaries, addressing various aspects of the SDGs. QR codes facilitated access to additional information.

Interactive Activities: “Ek machli, Paani mein gyi” fostered a lighthearted atmosphere, while creative activities like “Ink Your Thoughts” and “Handprint Paints” encouraged artistic expression on important causes. “What Color Is Your Mental Health” sparked a vital conversation about mental well-being.

Photo Booths: These captured memories and further solidified the inclusive event environment.
