This year’s event marks its seventh edition so far, and it is scheduled to take place from August 5 – 11.
The Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 will feature a host of under-18 athletes from across 71 Commonwealth nations and territories. These athletes will compete in seven sporting disciplines including – athletics, beach volleyball, cycling, netball fast 5, rugby sevens, swimming and triathlon.
India managed to win 11 medals – four gold, one silver and six bronze during the last edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2017 in the Bahamas.

Fans can view the live streaming of the Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 on the Trinidad Tobago Olympic Committee’s YouTube channel. Sadly, for fans in India, there is no live telecast of Trinbago 2023 available on any TV channel.

Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 full Indian squad
Team India is set to field a 24-member Indian contingent in the upcoming Commonwealth Youth Games 2023. The squad will consist of eight members in athletics, four in triathlon and six athletes each in swimming and cycling. As of now, the squads for Cycling and Triathlon are still yet to be announced. Each discipline will have an equal number of athletes for the men’s and women’s events.
Aside from the events listed above, India will not take part in beach volleyball, netball, fast 5, and rugby sevens. Meanwhile, Men’s 400m hurdles silver medalist Bapi Hansda will lead the Indian contingent at the upcoming competition. Bapi became the first Indian to win a silver medal in the men’s 400m hurdles during the Asian Youth Athletics Championships earlier this year in April.
