The Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 is currently taking place from August 5 to 11 in the Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
This year’s competition marks the seventh edition ever since its first edition in 2000. It is also making a return after six years. The competition features over 1,000 athletes from 71 Commonwealth nations and territories with Medals on offer in seven sports. The seven sporting events are athletics, beach volleyball, cycling, netball fast 5, rugby sevens, swimming and triathlon.
Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 Indian contingent
The Indian contingent features a 24-member team consisting of star athletes like runner Bapi Hansda and swimmer Vedaant Madhavan. Out of the 24, eight are from the athletics team, six in both cycling and swimming, and four in triathlon. Each of these squads features an equal amount of both men and women. Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 India’s medal winners
India are currently heading into Trinbago 2023 as the fourth-most successful country in Commonwealth Youth Games history with 125 medals. 51 of those came in gold, 38 in silver and 36 in bronze medals.
