The seven-a-side rugby games will be played on a full-size field over two halves of seven minutes each rather than the customary 40 minutes per half. Except for these changes, the simplified and frenzied version of rugby will abide by the established regulations of the sport. Rugby sevens has been a competition at every Commonwealth Games since 1998. The women’s competition was introduced at the previous Games in 2018 on the Gold Coast.
