At 2022 Commonwealth Games, Australia claimed the women’s netball event gold medal after a thrilling 55-51 victory against Jamaica, who conquered Australia in the group stage earlier.

2022 Commonwealth Games – Women’s Netball Australia vs Jamaica Final Results, Score, And Medal Winners
Australia successfully finished its Birmingham comeback effort by defeating Jamaica 55–51 to capture the gold medal in breathtaking fashion. The Diamonds became the first netball team to win the gold medal despite losing a pool match in the lead-up, and the magnificent finale gave Australia its 1000th gold medal in Commonwealth Games history.
The Diamonds had to work hard to advance to the gold medal match after the unexpected setback to Jamaica earlier in the tournament, defeating 2018 champions England along the road. From the sidelines, Sarah Klau and Cara Koenen propelled Australia across the finish line. Klau silenced Sunshine Girls superstar Jhaniele Fowler.
The 2018 gold medalists England failed to win bronze after a shocking loss to New Zealand earlier in the day. New Zealand won its first medal in Netball since 2014 by defeating the Roses 55-48. The full results of Women’s Netball event at 2022 Commonwealth Games can be found here.
