2022 Commonwealth Games – Men’s Rugby Sevens South Africa vs Fiji Final Results, Medal Winners, And Scores
The men’s rugby sevens competition at 2022 Commonwealth Games came to an end on Sunday in Coventry, when South Africa defeated Olympic champions Fiji 31-7 to claim the gold medal. The Blitzbokke simply played too aggressively in defense and demonstrated masterful precision finishing with the ball in hand.
By defeating Australia 26–12, New Zealand has won the bronze medal. For the Kiwis, Leroy Carter got things going quickly by latching onto the errant ball and sprinting off. Josh Turner came back to tie the score for Australia, but Moses Leo’s goal right before halftime gave New Zealand control of the game. Despite Henry Paterson’s last-second aerobatic attempt, Leo and Carter added their doubles in the second half to ensure that their outcome was uncontested.
