Instead of the usual 40 minutes per half, the seven-a-side rugby matches will be played on a full-size pitch over two halves of seven minutes each. The streamlined and frantic version of rugby will adhere to the traditional rules of the game, excepting these modifications. Since 1998, rugby sevens has been a part of every Commonwealth Games. At the previous Games in 2018 on the Gold Coast, the women’s competition was unveiled.

2022 Commonwealth Games – Men’s Rugby Sevens Teams, Groups, Latest Results, Upcoming Schedule, Date, Time, And Venue
The 2022 Commonwealth Games rugby sevens competition will feature a men’s tournament, which will take place from July 29 to July 31, 2022. Further, the competitions will now be held in Coventry Stadium in Coventry instead of Villa Park, where they were originally planned to take place. Up until 2014, when they lost to South Africa in the gold medal game, New Zealand had dominated the men’s competition since its start.
The formation of the pools was revealed on July 8, 2022. As per the rules, the top two teams from each pool advance to the medal round knockout round, with the other teams battling it out for positions ninth through sixteenth.
