It was another highlight for the Australians at the Commonwealth Games as they won 35 massive medals, including 11 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze on the fifth day. Australia has now taken its medal tally to 106.

Joining Matthew Temple, Kaylee McKeon and Zac Stubblety, Emma McKeon added her fifth gold medal in the 4x100m medley relay.

In the 800m freestyle, the Australians swept the podium with a 1-2-3 finish. Australia took home 16 swimming medals on the fifth day.

In the pole vault event, Nina Kennedy gave Australia her first gold in the CWG field event, 22.

In men’s and women’s 3×3 wheelchair basketball, Australia took gold and silver and in 3×3 basketball, Australia took silver and bronze in men’s and women’s games respectively.
England also had a good run on day five and took its medal tally to 86 (31 gold).

England won gold in men’s 3×3 basketball final. In the men’s 50m breaststroke, Adam Peaty’s brilliance in the pool earned the hosts a gold medal.
Brodie Williams was another athlete to wear gold to the hosts in the men’s 200 m backstroke.
In the 100-metre butterfly final, Laura Stephens and James Guy won a joint silver after a thrilling final.
During this time, India also pocketed a total of three medals (2 gold, 1 silver) after the end of the fifth day.
