Jeremy Lalrinnunga provided India with its second gold after a record-breaking performance from the 19-year-old in the men’s 67kg weightlifting category. Jeremy lifted a total of 300 kg in the snatch and C&J round.

Following Jeremy, Weightlifter Anchita Sheuli provided India with its third gold medal in CWG, 22. Anchita Seuli lifted a total of 313kg in men’s 73kg category. He lifted 143kg in the snatch and 170kg in the clean and jerk round to clinch the third gold for India. His total lift of 313kg created the games record for overall weight.

So far Indian weightlifters have provided India with a total of six medals in this competition.

In women’s cricket, team India beat Pakistan by 8 wickets, and comfortably chased down 100 runs target in 12 overs( the match was 18 overs). Samriti Mandhana’s unbeaten knock of 63 of 42 balls directed the Indian side to an easy win.

Commonwealth Games 2022, Results from India in other events
Boxing: Nikhat Zareen advanced to the quarter-finals. Shiva Thapa and Sumit Kundu lost to their Scottish and Australian opponents in the round of 16 respectively. Sagar reached the quarter-finals after beating Pugilist of Cameroon in the men’s heavyweight category.
Hockey: Men’s team opened their CWG, 22 campaign in style by defeating Ghana ruthlessly to 11-0.
Badminton/Squash: India’s mixed team reached the semi-final after beating South Africa easily to 3-0 scoreline. In squash, Saurav Ghoshal and Joshana Chinappa reached the quarter-finals in men’s and women’s singles category.
Table Tennis/ Lawn Bowls: Indian men’s team beat Bangladesh to advance to the semifinals. Indian women’s team beat Fork Islands to reach the semifinals of the Lawn Bowls where they will face New Zealand.
