The 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, will feature gymnastics competitions from July 29 to August 6, 2022. Twenty events will mark the sport’s tenth appearance overall since its 1978 debut as well as its second in England specifically. In the tournament, gymnastics contests will take place at Arena Birmingham, a location that has already hosted more than 30 different sports.
Pranati Nayak, 27, will lead the Indian campaign in the women’s gymnastics division after recently winning bronze at the Asian Championships. The men’s team, which includes Yogeshwar Singh, Saif Tamboli, a member of the Maharashtra Navy, and Satyajit Mondal of Bengal, also appears promising. On his international debut at the World Challenge Cup last month, Mondal placed fifth in the vault competition. Former national champion Tamboli, who overcame three ACL surgery in both of his legs, will also try to win over the crowd.
Three medals have been won by Indian gymnasts thus far at the CWG, the best-ever performance being Delhi 2010’s silver in the vault and bronze in the floor exercises by Ashish Kumar.
