He opted to keep quiet about his departure from AEW, and he intends to follow his word, according to Rhodes. There isn’t going to be a shoot interview.

“There isn’t going to be any malicious story told. Moreover, there were a plethora of theories, none of which were correct.” He’s implying that there were issues with money and creative control. “They were printed as fact, and it’s taken me two months to realise that while the truth is that it was only time. They couldn’t get over it because it was a personal issue.”

Matt [Jackson], Nick [Jackson], and Kenny [Omega] are all people he admires. Tony Khan is his favourite. His name would go down in history as someone who helped fund and support the entire alternative and revolution that became AEW, but it was time for him to move on. He gets an opportunity at his dream, he gets another chance at it. And he really can’t leave any stone unturned with that.

Cody On His Talk With Vince McMahon

He also revealed what his interactions with Vince McMahon were like when he agreed to return to the company he departed in 2016.

He said that he told Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard, and Nick Kahn — this little group of people — what he honestly feels, which is that he is the finest wrestler on the planet. To take it a step further, he does not believe there is a close second. But, with that stated, the chance to prove it now exists, and that is what he is the most enthusiastic about, According to Rhodes.

He continued that It’s an entirely new individual returning to the game. It’s a unique brand. It’s someone who’s seen the highs and lows of independent wrestling. Moreover, he traveled overseas and interacted with the fans who keep the ship afloat. But, new guy or not, he’s still that small boy he stated in an AEW advertisement who wants what his father didn’t receive and is afraid to express it out loud for fear of jinxing it.

However, he walked to Madison Square Garden and stood opposite from Superstar Billy Graham, holding his goal in his hands. Later on it was taken away because that was the backdrop of the situation. He understands that now as an adult, but as a kid, that was the only reason he ever wanted to get in, so that he could get what he didn’t get.
