Cori Coco Gauff popularity known as Coco Gauff is an 18-year-old emerging right-handed (two-handed backhand) tennis star from America. She was born on 2004, March 13 in Atlanta Georgia. She is 5 ft and 9 inches. She is coached by Corey Gauff and Jean-Christophe Faurel, a former professional right-handed tennis player from France.

She is the youngest player ranked in the top 100 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). Gauff is currently ranked No. 19 which she achieved on February 28, 2022. She was ranked as high as No. 16 on January 17, 2022.

Gauff was born to parents with NCAA Division I collegiate backgrounds in basketball. She witnessed multiple sports as a child but got inspired by the American William sisters (Venus and Serena) which compelled her to choose tennis. “Serena Williams has always been my idol…and Venus. They are the reason why I wanted to pick up a tennis racquet,” said Gauff.

Coco met Serena at the Little Mo national event when she was just eight. She played against Venus in the first round of the Wimbledon 2019 defeating her idol in straight sets. They later met at the Australian Open 2020 where again, Coco achieved a win against the legendary. They played as a duo at the French Open doubles 2021 where the American pair lost in the first round.

Gauff has a successful career as a junior. She was a finalist at the junior US Open in 2017. She achieved the World No. 1 ranking as a junior following her junior Grand Slam triumph at the 2018 French Open.

The 18-year-old made her WTA Tour debut in March 2019 at the Maimi Open. She also entered the 2019 Wimbledon Championships through a wildcard.
