Who Is Christopher Scarver?
Christopher Scarver was a prisoner at Columbia Correctional Institution which is based in Portage, Wisconsin when Dahmer was jailed there in year 1992.
On the 28th of November, in 1994, Scarver, Dahmer, and another prisoner, Jesse Anderson, were assigned to clean the prison gym’s showers as it was part of their work. The trio was left unattended for around 20 minutes and at that time; Scarver attacked both Dahmer and Anderson with a metal bar.
Dahmer was found to have been hit badly in the head and face. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead after one hour. The Chicago Tribune reports state that, Scarver was seen saying following the attack: “God told me to do it.”
Anderson also died as a result of Scarver’s attack, succumbing to his wounds two days later. In an interview held in year 2015 with New York Post, Scarver told his experiences with Dahmer, stating: “He crossed the line with some people – the prisoners, prison staff. Few people who are in prison are repentant – but he was not one of them.”
Why Was Christopher Scarver Jailed?
Christopher Scarver was already serving a life sentence for murder when he killed Jeffrey Dahmer. Scarver was part of a job-training program with Wisconsin Conservation Corps when he was fired in year 1990.
In fear of losing his job, Scarver came back to the workplace with a gun on June 1st, in 1990, and demanded money from supervisor Steven Lohman and site manager John Feyen. When Scarver was given just $15, he shot Lohman in the head to kill him.
Scarver was sentenced to life in prison for killing and was sent to Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, in year 1992.

As of the present year that is 2022, 53-year-old Christopher Scarver is still in jail, at the Centennial Correctional Facility based in Colorado.
