Chris Cairns Latest Health Update Sees Cricketer Paralysed After Undergoing Operation For Aortic Dissection

Chris Cairns has suffered a paralytic attack in the legs as per the latest health update about him

The last couple of weeks have left the cricket fraternity in shock after news of previous New Zealand cricketer, Chris Cairns being on life support emerged.

Cairns who was suffering from Aortic dissection was rushed to the hospital as his health worsened with him eventually undergoing a raft of live saving operations. While his health has gradually been on the uptick over the last couple of days with him now out of danger, the latest news emanating about him isn’t extremely pleasing.

Chris Cairns Latest Health Update Talks About The Paralytic Attack He Suffered

In a statement issued by Cairns’ lawyer Aaron Lloyd on Friday, Cairns has suffered a paralytic attack in the legs. Cairns suffered the paralysis during his heart surgery, one which lead to a stroke in his spine.

“During the life-saving emergency heart surgery Chris underwent in Sydney he suffered a stroke in his spine. This has resulted in paralysis in his legs.  As a result, he will be undertaking a significant rehabilitation process at a specialist spinal hospital in Australia,” Cairns’ lawyer said in the statement.

Cairns is regarded as one of the finest players to have stepped out for the New Zealand cricket team over the years. He finds himself in the elusive list of eight all-rounders in the world to snag 200 wickets and score 3,000 runs along with him becoming the third-fastest cricket to reach the double in a measly 58 test matches.

He scored 3,320 runs in red ball cricket whilst accruing 4,550 in ODIs along with 201 wickets. He was later embroiled in match fixing charges during his time in India.
