Despite dropping to the losers’ bracket after his loss against Fabiano Caruana, American GM Hikaru Nakamura held his nerves to defeat Magnus Carlsen to qualify for the grand final before getting his revenge with win against Caruana. Following this turn of events, Nakamura has clinched the Division-I title at the 2023 Chessable Masters alongside prize money of $30,000.

With his stellar play in the grand final against Fabiano Caruana, American GM Hikaru Nakamura was able to avenge his earlier loss and clinch the 2023 Chessable Masters. With his stellar championship win, Caruana has sealed his berth at the 2023 Meltwater Champions Chess Tour play-off, which is scheduled for December.
In another match, Uzbek GM Nodirbek Abdusattorov defeated Vachier-Lagrave to win Division-II. As a result of his victory, Abdusattorov will move up to Division-I for the following CCT event. Alexey Sarana was defeated by Amin Tabatabaei in the Division III Grand Final, and Tabatabaei prevailed. Four of the top players for the next 2023 Meltwater Chess Tour event in May have already been selected, according to information, and the other four competitors will be selected through a play-in.
Meltwater Champions Chess Tour: Leg 2 – Chessable Masters 2023 prize money pool distribution
It is known that the 2023 Chessable Masters will have a $235,000 prize pool, with $112,500 of that total set to be distributed among eight players of Division-I. Meanwhile, sixteen contestants from Division-II will split total prize pool of $71,500 according to their finishing position. For the 32 contestants in Division-III, there will be a $51,000 prize pool. Hikaru Nakamura received a stunning sum of $30,000 for winning Division-I by beating Fabiano Caruana.
