Chengiz box office collection: Jeet’s action drama fails to impress on day 1

With his most recent film, “Chengiz,” Jeet wished to attract the Eid crowd, and it was not an easy task with “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.” Starring Salman Khan, the later movie was a tough competition for the Bengali actor. 

In an interview, Jeet acknowledged that it had been a challenging trip and claimed that equating his movie with Salman’s is equivalent to “equating Saudi Arabia with Argentina.” But he was sure of himself. The movie was made on a budget of Rs.5 crore.

Plot Story Of The Movie

Based on Calcutta’s underworld culture from the 1970s through the mid-1990s. Chengiz (Jeet), a lone man who ruled the streets at that specific time, has an extraordinary life path chronicled in the movie.

The Pan-India Release For The Movie Chengiz

With the pan-India release of the movie Chengiz, Jeet’s fans around the nation were eagerly looking forward to the release. For the mega release, the makers expected a strong box office collection. 

This wasn’t the first time a Bengali movie with a Hindi dub has been released, but it was issued concurrently this time. 

The lead actors, Jeet and Susmita Chatterjee, left no stone unturned to promote the film outside the state and were able to achieve a positive response.

The Box Office Collection For The Movie Chengiz

Despite investing a huge amount of time and energy in promotion, this positivity failed to turn into success in theatres as the collection for the movie was not as expected.

There hasn’t been a formal declaration for the exact collection yet, but as per the sources, the film did not do well at the box office outside of Bengal. 

Outside Bengal, Chengiz made a collection of Rs 10 lakh on the first day, bringing in a total of between Rs 35 lakh and Rs 40 lakh. Although it is not a terrible number, it is undoubtedly a little lower than what was anticipated. 

On the contrary, Salman’s KKBKKJ amassed almost Rs. 14 crores in India. It appears to be a strong figure, but in comparison to the actors’ earlier films, it is uninspiring. His post-pandemic releases of several of his films were able to treble their box office receipts. Therefore, just like Jeet, Salman’s magic failed to impress moviegoers on opening day.
