Matt Miazga Career in Europe
26-year-old USMNT player Matt Miazga has once again left Chelsea on a season-long loan to La Liga club Alaves. Since joining the club in 2015, he has failed to leave any kind of impression in the Premier League.
In his first match for Chelsea against Premier League club Aston Villa due to unavailability of first-choice defenders Terry and Cahill, he shocked everybody with his tough and rock solid defending which earned him another opportunity to feature against Swansea City.
Career Downfall
Everything went downhill in that match for Miazga as he was substituted after the first half due to incompetent behavior. As a result, he left the club on a season-long loan to Vitesse with an option to make the deal permanent.
The following season, he joined Ligue 1 club Nantes where he failed to understand the French way and his loan move was cut short. Subsequently, he joined Championship club Reading on loan for 18 months featuring in 42 games for the club.
His most successful loan spell came with Belgian side Anderlecht where he featured in 30 games for the club scoring 1 goal. However, the move was not made permanent due to paperwork issues. However, he has now joined La Liga club Alaves on a season-long loan.
He has a FIFA 21 rating of 72 with a potential of 77 whilst he wears the 3 number jersey for the USMNT soccer team.
