The next Chelsea manager odds are now out
Pochettino was the club’s sixth permanent manager in five years after Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.
Having only been manager of the team for one season at Stamford Bridge, Mauricio Pochettino departs with mutual consent.

Pochettino, 52, was under contract for two years with an additional year option. The Argentine were under pressure after a disappointing first half of the season, but a run of five straight wins towards the conclusion of the season helped them finish sixth in the Premier League. The Blues enjoyed an incredible second half of the season, going on to the FA Cup semifinals and finishing second in the Carabao Cup. They finished sixth in the league, ahead of Newcastle and Manchester United.

If Man United defeats Man City in the 2024 FA Cup final, Erik ten Hag’s team will secure a Europa League slot, depriving Newcastle of a European opportunity, and the Blues will compete in the Europa Conference League. But if the favourites, City, win on Saturday at Wembley, Chelsea will go to the Europa League, Newcastle will move up to the Conference League, and United will be shut out of European competition entirely.
Who is the front-runner to manage Chelsea going forward?
The favorite to take over as Chelsea’s manager after Pochettino is Hansi Flick. The 59-year-old has not had a job since quitting the German national team in September 2023 after a terrible two-year stint during which he won less than half of his games. His last club role was with Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga and the 2019–20 Champions League. In his recollection, that experience is far more unforgettable. Under his direction, Bayern lost just seven games and won seven titles.
Oddly, despite some bookies favouring him to take over at Bayern, Roberto De Zebri is still one of the most likely contenders to succeed Pochettino following his announcement of resignation from Brighton.
Ruben Amorim, who lost out on the Liverpool spot, is now the third favourite, while Jose Mourinho is still a possibility to return to Stamford Bridge for a third spell.
