2022 Champions Showdown: Chess 9LX Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, Format, And Other Details
This year’s highly anticipated Champions Showdown: Chess 9LX competition features another over the board matchup. Grandmasters from around the globe, including former World Champion Garry Kasparov, will compete in this tournament. Fischer Random, or Chess 960, will be used to play the matches and in the end, $150,000 prize pool will be awarded.
Bobby Fischer invented Chess 9LX, a variation of the game in which the pieces on the home rank are randomly assigned, with 960 different starting positions. In rapid and blitz games, players must use their imagination because they won’t know the placement of the home rank pieces until they get there before the round begins.
