When he defeated Robert Milkins 4-2 to open Day 4 of play, Ronnie O’Sullivan’s pursuit of the championship got off to a great start. The incumbent women’s world champion, Mink Nutcharut, was defeated by seventh-seeded Zhao Xintong by score of 4-2, capping up the afternoon session. It was decided that Ronnie and Xintong would participate in the Group-2 final of evening session following these results.
From start of group final, Zhao struggled against O’Sullivan as the seven-time world champion race to 2-0 lead before winning third frame via 129 break. Despite his 0-3 deficit, Zhao failed to respond and hence, Ronnie went to mid-session break with 4-0 lead. After the break, Zhao scored 92 points in the fifth period to cut the gap and played his best. But O’Sullivan quickly regained control by winning the following two frames, securing victory with a 6-1 score. The Rocket’s participation in the tournament’s final four, where he will meet Fan Zhengyi, has been confirmed with this victory.
On Friday’s semi-final match, reigning champion Judd Trump will face-off against four-time world champion Mark Selby. Meanwhile, Ronnie O’Sullivan will return to the field on Saturday, where he will play against Fan Zhengyi.

Prize Money Pool Distribution at 2022 Champion of Champions
At 2022 Champion of Champions, the victor will get a hefty prize of £150,000, while the runner-up will receive £60,000. From the £427,000 total prize fund, each semi-final loser will also get £30,000. For placing second in his group, Zhao Xintong will win £17,500 in prize money, and Robert Milkins, who was eliminated in the first round, will receive £12,500.
