2022 Cazoo British Open Day 2 Results, Scores, And Match Winners
In the Cazoo British Open first round, Ben Woollaston beat defending champion Mark Williams 4-1, demonstrating that he was up to the challenge. With a 4-1 win over Kyren Wilson, Barry Hawkins, who had lost to Wilson in the BetVictor European Masters final the month prior, exacted some measure of retribution.
Hawkins won his clash against Steven Hallworth with the help of breaks of 72, 120, 78, and 134. With a best break of 102, Anthony Hamilton, who finished second in this competition back in 1999, defeated Jamie Clarke 4-1. Hallworth defeated Hammad Miah 4-0 with a top run of 74 while Jack Lisowski defeated Mitchell Mann 4-2 with a 132-point break.
John Higgins’ day at the Cazoo British Open was bittersweet as he became the second player in snooker history to reach the milestone of 900 career centuries but also lost heartbreakingly to Yuan Sijun 4-3. Mark Selby defeated Mark Joyce 4-1 while pursuing his first title since the 2021 World Championship with breaks of 110, 74, 55, and 54.
A break of 110 was the highlight of Graeme Dott’s 4-1 victory over Anthony McGill, and Lyu Haotian defeated David Gilbert 4-3 by winning the final frame on the colors. Meanwhile, Jordan Brown advanced to next round following his 4-1 victory over Ng On Yee. Fans can purchase their tickets for the event from here.
