A professional snooker competition known as the 2022 Cazoo British Open was held in the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, England, from September 26 to October 2, 2022. Prize pool for the competition totaled ยฃ478,000, and the winner took home ยฃ100,000. Quarterfinal matches at the competition were played as the best of nine frames, whereas earlier rounds were played as the best of seven frames. The final consisted of two sessions of a best-of-19-frames competition whereas, semi-final matches were played as best-of-11 frames.

In the Cazoo British Open final, Ryan Day overcame a 7-6 deficit to defeat Mark Allen 10-7 to win his fourth ranking title and the largest of his career. Welshman Day claimed that this week’s victory in Milton Keynes is without a doubt his biggest snooker accomplishment. He had previously won the Riga Masters, Gibraltar Open, and Shoot Out, as well as defeated John Higgins at the Crucible.
After winning the opening frame of the evening session to take a 5-4 lead, Allen had a chance to tie the score in frame ten, but he missed the blue to the center pocket after potting just one red, giving Day the opportunity to tie the score with a break of 58.
