Her presence, though, elicited a disgusting post from Glasgow City FC club coach Paul Smart. Proud, who claimed in his Twitter account to be an ex-professional footballer, reacted to one of Owen’s tweets with, “Can’t wait to watch her getting trashed,” accompanied with smiling emojis and a thumbs up.
“What a wonderful example to set from either a man in your responsible position,” the former Liverpool and England forward said.
Proud has subsequently told The Scottish Sun that he is no longer employed at the club. He stated that he had “removed” himself from the club regardless of the fact that the message was written “in fun” and “taken out of context.”
