Although the game achieved a fruitful series of beta phases before the final release, there currently seems to be some issues.
Normally, new games tend to have a few bugs and issues, but this particular error affects the home menu itself, is quite a major for developers and the overall gameplay.
Modern Warfare 2 MW2 Operator List Bug Error
Following its release, Modern Warfare 2 features all the game modes completely unlocked for all players. These include Campaign, Multiplayer, and Spec Ops mode.
Upon entering the Modern Warfare 2 game, fans are directed to the game’s home menu. There, players can see multiple tabs in the center top section.
There, a tab called “Operators” contains all the character cosmetics in a player’s account for customizations.
While on the “SPECGRU,” which is the left partition inside the tab, there are no abnormal responses. However, as soon as the user switches to the “KORTAC” partition, and tries using the scroll or drift over the section for a short duration, the user is sent back to the home menu.
How To Fix Operator List Bug Error
The “Operator List Bug” obstructs certain user actions on the home screen. In order to fix the issue, players can try performing a full game restart. For this method however, players may need to perform multiple restarts. Moreover, it may not work completely as it is not a 100% guaranteed fix.
Besides that step, users can also try restarting shaders from the settings menu. This may load some failed assets from the game which could have died when the user initially booted the game.
If users are still facing the error, a last resort option would be to reinstall Modern Warfare 2 itself. Performing this method will download and install any missing files involving the Operators tab.
Players should however, first verify the integrity of the game files before carrying out this step.
Possible Reasons
The Operator List Bug in Modern Warfare 2 could be a result of a failed loading of particular in-game assets. Since the error only occurs on the Kortac side of the operators, it can be a signal of a corrupt file for one of the character skins.
