India was eliminated from the Sudirman Cup on Monday after being humiliated 5-0 by Malaysia, which was another nightmare for India after Sunday’s 1-4 loss against Chinese Taipei. 2023 Sudirman Cup latest results, quarterfinal schedule, date, venue, score, & participating teams
On the second day of the 2023 BWF Sudirman Cup Finals in Suzhou, Lee Zii Jia resumed his winning ways. In order to advance his nation into the quarterfinals of the badminton mixed team World Championships, Malaysia’s top shuttler defeated Kidambi Srikanth of India 21-16, 21-11. After the mixed doubles team of Goo Soon Huat & Lai Shevon Jemie defeated Dhruv Kapila & Ashwini Ponnappa 21-16, 21-17 in the opening match, Lee’s victory gave Malaysia a comfortable 2-0 lead. PV Sindhu of India, who has won two Olympic medals, was up against Goh Jin Wei in a match that she needed to win, but she fell short.
With a straightforward 5-0 victory over Australia, Chinese Taipei also moved from Group C after winning their first match 4-1 over India. The Sudirman Cup 2023 season got off to a rout for Indonesia, captained by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, as they defeated Canada 5-0.
