The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has announced the full list of nominees for the Player of the Year Awards 2023, check out all the nominees in each category below and how to vote
The BWF announced the nominees on Tuesday, November 21, who were divided into eight categories, as approved by the BWF Council.

The nominees for each category were selected based on their performances throughout the 2022–23 season, starting from November 1, 2022, to October 31, 2023.
BWF Player of the Year Awards 2023
The much-awaited BWF Player of the Year Awards 2023 will take place on December 11 in Hangzhou, China. The award ceremony will take place during the annual HSBC BWF World Tour Finals Gala Dinner, celebrating the world’s best players. Meanwhile, the BWF will also announce the winner of the Eddy Choong Most Promising Player award during the event.
BWF Player of the Year Awards 2023 notable nominees
Among the nominees, some of the notable names include Olympic and world champion Viktor Axelsen. Viktor has secured six titles in the current season and claimed three Super 1000 crowns. Korean star Seo Seung Jae is also another notable name on the list. He is the first male player in 24 years to win a doubles’ title at the BWF World Championships, along with Kunlavut Vitidsarn. He is also the BWF World Championships men’s singles winner.
Other notable names include the world’s top-ranked Korean shuttler, An Se Young, Chinese athlete Chen Yu Fei, and Akane Yamaguchi, the current world No. 2. Indian badminton duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are also nominated for the Pair of the Year Awards. Indian ace Thulasimathi Murugesan is also included in the female Para-Badminton Player of the Year Award category.
