The German Open in 2022 will be the fourth tournament on the BWF World Tour, and it will be part of the German Open championships, which have been conducted since 1955. The German Badminton Association is hosting the competition, which is sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation.

The Westenergie Sporthalle in Mülheim, Germany, is hosting this international competition. The tournament will run from 8th march till 13th march.

Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, was defeated by Zhang Yi Man, the bronze medalist at the 2021 World Championships, 14-21, 21-15, 14-21 in a 55-minute match. In the Women’s Singles only three of the top eight seeds managed to qualify for the Quarterfinals.
Top seed Tai Tzu-Ying and second seed Akanae Yamaguchi also bowed out of the BWF German Open in the second stage. Tai Tzu-Ying lost in two straight sets to Japanese player Takahashi.
