Bungo Stray Dogs anime season 5 confirmed, release date and manga total chapters

Only a few days remain in the 2023 winter anime season. The two major finales—the end of the heartwarming Tomo-chan Is a Girl and the thrilling Bungo Stray Dogs—are about to debut on Crunchyroll.

The latter series has had a miraculous comeback over its fourth TV season. This season was one of the highest-rated seasons yet. However, as soon as the credits start to roll on the finale, viewers will start to think about a potential fifth season.

5th Season Of Bungo Stray Dogs is Confirmed For July 2023

It was announced that season 5 of the anime series Bungo Stray Dogs would debut in July 2023, just minutes after the series’ conclusion aired in Japan.

Mangaka Kafka Asagiri said, “We will play with you with a roller coaster plot that will make your heart race.” He added that the renewal was because of the love from fans.

The availability of source material from an original light novel or manga series and the appeal of the larger franchise among both local and foreign audiences are the two key variables. They determine whether a modern anime will be renewed or not. Thankfully, Bungo Stray Dogs offers much of both of these elements.

Approximately chapter 78 of the original manga series, which was published in Japan in December 2019 as part of volume 18, was adapted for the Bungo Stray Dogs season 4 finale. The Sky Casino arc came to an end with this chapter.

The good news is that there is enough source material for a fifth animation season because over 100 chapters and over 23 entire Tankobon volumes have been published in Japan.

The Reviews And Rating Of Bungo Stray Dogs

Additionally, the Bungo Stray Dogs anime adaptation gained sufficient popularity for Studio Bones to begin work on season 5. The anime is now rated an excellent 8.62/10 on MyAnimeList, 4.4/5 on Anime-Planet, and 85% on AniList before the conclusion of season 4.

This is interesting since it not only makes season 4 the highest-scoring season of the show to date on MAL. Furthermore, it is also the fourth-highest-scoring title from Studio Bones thus far, after only Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and both seasons 2 and 3 of Mob Psycho 100.

At Yen Press, 22 of the 23 manga volumes that are now available have been translated into English. Physical and electronic versions are available from retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, BAM, RightStuf, Google Play, Apple iBooks, and Rakuten Kobo.

Additionally, the Bungo Stray Dogs series has five spin-off games: “Wan,” “Dead Apple,” “Another Story: Yukito Atatsuji vs. Natsuhiko Kyogoku,” “BEAST,” and “Dazai, Chuya, Jugosai.”
