The Bundesliga prize money, totaling approximately €1.16 billion annually for the 2023–24 season, stems from various sources such as sponsorships, TV rights deals, and business partnerships. This amount is part of a four-year contract worth €4.64 billion, spanning from 2021 to 2025. Notably, this new deal represents an 85% increase in domestic TV rights revenue compared to the previous contract, which amounted to just €2.51 billion.

When it comes to distribution, the Bundesliga prize money follows a 70-30 model. Seventy percent of the total prize money is distributed based on each team’s performance over the last five seasons, with more emphasis placed on the most recent season.
