The pioneer of street dancing, star of the 1984 movie, “Breakin’ and the popping guru of legendary dancer Michael Jackson, Bruno ‘Pop N’ Taco’ died at the age of 58 in his house on Long Island Beach on Saturday, July 2nd.

The death is considered to be a result of natural causes, presumably a heart attack, and no autopsy is to be conducted. The news of his death was confirmed by his sister, Diana Wolgamott, and made public through the Facebook page of the star.

The Facebook page paid tribute to the dancing legend and wrote, “It is with sadness and emotion that I announce Bruno passed away yesterday. Bruno was an incredible, kid and generous man. He always had that smile that lights up our hearts every moment. A unique and incredible talent. He will forever be the greatest dancer of history, with Michael Jackson. We are all thinking of Bruno’s family and sending them all our love. Bruno ‘Pop N’ Taco’ Falcon is the king.”

Born on June 10, 1964, Bruno Falcon was popularised by his stage name ‘Pop N’ Taco’. Falcon’s career took a boost in the 1980s as he gained recognition as an east L.A. Native dancer, choreographer, and actor. He has worked alongside multiple dancers and choreographers in his career. Falcon’s recognition piqued when he played the antagonist part in the cult classic movie ‘Breakin’ that featured his own locking technique, Electro Rock 1.

He also starred in movies like Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, ‘Thumbelina’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Moonwalker.’ Falcon also appeared in two of Jackson’s short film projects: “Captain EO,” and “Moonwalker,” released in 1986 and 1988. His net worth stood at $5 million.

Falcon and Jackson reportedly shared a close relationship. Falcon also partnered with Michael Jackson and danced in the ‘Smooth Criminal’ music video and choreographed the renowned ‘anti-gravity lean’ move.

As the news of Falcon’s demise was announced, his fans and friends took over Twitter to express their sorrow and pay tribute to the dancer and choreographer.

Veteran actress-singer-choreographer Toni Basil wrote, “Rest In Peace My long time dear beautiful friend and collaborator over many years- the legendary ground breaking brilliant dancer Pop-n-Taco Bruno Falcon. June 10, 1964-July 2, 2022.”
