Documents obtained by The Baltimore Sun show the 40 year old had responded to a website’s advertisement, one which said women were posting men. The advertisement was posted by an undercover detective for a Prince George’s County police special assignment team with Shingler responding to it on October 14.
He had arrived at a Holiday Inn in Largo to meet up with who he believed was a hooker with court documents revealing Shingler had affirmed his desire to have sex with the detective upon entering the hotel room and had given her $80 as well for her services. He was subsequently arrested and is now facing prostitution-related charges after being charged with two counts of procuring or soliciting or offering to procure or solicit prostitution in October.
It remains to be seen what punishment, if any he’s handed with at his hearing.
