Thanks to stellar play by players like Ajay Malik, Dhruv Hirapara, Ajay Kundu, and Ritabrata Sarkar, the Indian men’s tennis team secured a silver medal at the 2023 BRICS Games. Meanwhile, Indian women’s tennis team clinched a bronze medal guided by talented players like Vaishnavi Adkar, Sandeepti Singh Rao, and Kashish Bhatia. Elsewhere, the Indian Beach Volleyball squads achieved remarkable success at the 2023 BRICS Games. Abithan Senthilkumar and Poonthamizhan Udaya Suriyan clinched the silver medal for the boys’ team. For the girls’ team, Janani Devendran and Nageshwari Saravanan secured the bronze medal.
Devansh Parmar achieved a remarkable feat by securing the bronze medal in the Men’s 400m Freestyle Swimming competition, recording an impressive time of 4:03.97. This accomplishment marked his second medal at the 2023 BRICS Games. Meanwhile, Nithik Nathella managed to secure a remarkable achievement in the Men’s 200m Backstroke event. Representing India, this talented swimmer secured the silver medal with an outstanding time of 2:05.45.
With the closing ceremony on 21st October, the 2023 BRICS Games culminated. To the excitement of fans, a high-ranking official within the Russian Foreign Ministry has emphasized that the upcoming BRICS Games in Kazan, Russia, scheduled for 12th June through 23rd June in 2024, is intended to foster stronger interpersonal connections among member states rather than involving sports in politics. This event, set to take place in the city of Kazan, Russia, will feature competitions in 25 diverse sports.
