Nakashima completed the group stage unbeaten, defeating Lehecka, Matteo Arnaldi, and Francesco Passaro to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal match, the American faced Jack Draper. Nakashima had a few break points early in the first set and even a set point near the end, but Draper fought back to hold serve on both occasions.

However, in the ensuing tie-break, the American was able to win the set. At the start of the second set, Draper obtained a serve break, and he later won it to tie the match. The third set featured a large portion of the two players maintaining their serves, but Nakashima eventually broke the British player’s serve to win the set. Draper had a set point in the fourth set to force a tie-break, but Nakashima held serve to prevent that from happening. The American won the match 4-3 (6), 1-4, 4-2, 4-3 after falling behind 5-2 in the game.

On the other hand, in the group stage, Lehecka was upset by Nakashima, however, he went on to defeat Passaro and Arnaldi to advance to the semifinals, where Dominic Stricker awaited him. The Czech got the first point in the first set to take a break, and she quickly served out the set to win it. Lehecka prevailed in the tie-break to win the second set and take the match by a twisted two sets to one margin. Stricker broke his opponent’s serve to open the third set, and he didn’t waste the opportunity to take the match. But Lehecka soon recovered to win the fourth set and the match 4-1, 4-3 (4), 2-4, 4-1, ensuring that it wasn’t the start of an amazing comeback.

There is no margin for error because of the tournament’s quick style. Instead of the formal six games, the sets are played initially to four games each, with a tie-break at a score of 3-3. Despite Lehecka’s apparent improvement over the course of a few days, Nakashima easily prevailed in their group stage match. But the American is a more seasoned player here, which is probably going to help him win the championship.
