Social media users and fans have started making assumptions regarding Bamba’s cause of death. The likelihood of an undetected head injury has been raised by several.
35-year-old Paul Bamba was born on August 15, 1989. He was 185 cm tall. Details about Paul’s background are scarce.
A native of Puerto Rico, Bamba was born in 1989 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and eventually made his way to the United States. The 35-year-old served in the military, as part of the Marine Corps for two years.
He worked as an infantry machine gunner with the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines on a tour of Iraq but after leaving the military, things weren’t that great for Bamba. He was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after his time in the military and struggled with holding on to a job and it resulted in him becoming homeless, forcing him to sleep on the 6 Train in New York City for over a year.
The 35-year-old started boxing at the Morris Park Boxing Club in The Bronx in New York, where he initially collected $10/round to spar the amateurs in the gym.
In all Bamba recorded 19 wins in 22 career bouts and earned 18 of those win by knockout.

This year, Paul Bamba started with a goal in mind. After suffering three early defeats in his first eight fights, Bamba set out to emulate Mike Tyson’s audacious 13-fight winning streak in 1986, which ended with Tyson’s heavyweight title victory.
Bamba actually outperformed Tyson, winning 14 times in 2024, even though none of the opponents he fought in areas like Cartagena, Colombia, or Sonora, Mexico, could be mistaken for well-known figures. Last Saturday in Carteret, New Jersey, he defeated former title contender Rogelio “Porky” Medina via stoppage in the sixth round, capping off his year.
He triumphantly showed off the WBA’s secondary “gold” cruiserweight title, which he had won, to the several hundred spectators inside the Performing Arts Center.
Only a few days have passed since Bamba’s career’s most important triumph. His greatest accomplishment, which demonstrated his commitment and skill in the sport, was winning the WBA Gold Cruiserweight title on December 21.
Paul Bamba proudly highlighted his undefeated record, saying, “14 fights, 14 knockouts, ending with the WBA GOLD cruiserweight world title.”
“This year I set out with a goal. I did just that! It wasn’t easy there were many obstacles that I adapted to overcame and stayed on the path we set regardless of extenuating circumstances,” Bamba wrote on his post caption on 24 December 2024.
