As Spurs soak in their 1-0 loss, Ange Postecoglou and his men are next set to face off against Chelsea on Sunday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Dean Huijsen celebrates goal by recreating the chill guy meme
Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen recently made headlines after recreating the viral chill guy meme while celebrating his goal against Tottenham. The Cherries recently managed to beat Spurs 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium following Huijsen’s first-half header. After scoring the goal, the 19-year-old centre-back mimicked the viral “chill guy” meme. Dean rushed to the corner of the pitch and made a calm smile before tucking his hands into his shorts like putting them into pockets while facing the supporters just like the dog seen in the viral meme online.
The ‘Chill Guy’ meme is going viral and is a symbol for maintaining composure in awkward circumstances. The “Chill Guy” meme is an anthropomorphic dog, wearing a sweater, blue jeans and sneakers and social media users relate to his cool and calm behaviour.
Aside from helping his side win the match, Huijsen also set a new record with his goal. The teenager notably became Bournemouth’s youngest-ever Premier League goalscorer at 19 years and 235 days old. Dean arrived at the club just earlier this summer from Juventus and started the game in place of the injured Marco Senesi.
Ange Postecoglou soaking under pressure
While the Cherries celebrated their hard-fought win, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou was scrambling as he faced pressure from the travelling Tottenham supporters. Right after the game, the Aussie manager engaged in a tense exchange with a fan while supporters booed him. The 59-year-old later shared during the post-match press conference:
They’re disappointed and rightly so and they gave me some direct feedback, which is taken on board. I didn’t like what was being said because I’m a human being but you’ve got to cop it.”
I’ve been around long enough to know when things don’t go well you’ve got to understand the frustration and disappointment. And they’re rightly disappointed because we let a game of football get away from us. But that’s OK. I’m OK with all that.”
Ange Postecoglou concluded by saying that he was really disappointed and determined to get things right.
