The anime series is one of the most popular ongoing manga series in the entire world, however the anime adaptation has started to feel like a distant memory.
The iconic series appeared last on our screens back in March 2021 and since then, fans have been waiting patiently for more information on the upcoming theatrical movie which was announced last year.
Fortunately, the latest issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has now confirmed the release date for the Black Clover film as well as the streaming rights being bagged by the streaming giant by Netflix.

Release Date for the Black Clover Movie
The official Japanese website for the Black Clover anime adaptation was confirmed on March 13th, 2022 that the new movie will release somewhere in 2023.
The first teaser trailer of the Black Clover movie was shared online, which says, “In commemoration of the 7th anniversary of the Weekly Shonen Jump series of “Black Clover.”
Today, October 5th, the Shonen Jump News Twitter page shared information in the latest issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
In the information, the page confirmed that the upcoming Black Clover movie is confirmed to release on March 31st, 2023.
The page also confirmed that the movie’s full title is “Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King.” The page also revealed that the movie will be releasing in both theatres as well also on the streaming platform, Netflix.
However, the Black Clover film will first premiere in Japanese theatres before making its way to international cinemas and eventually on Netflix, several months later.
Although Netflix may have not required the streaming rights for overseas distribution, the platform has its own broadcast deal with Japanese networks, which frequently see titles limited to certain territories in Asia.
Despite the recent headlines of the release date in March 2023, the production team did not elaborate on either the main plot or cast for the movie.
Fortunately, the makers have given us the good news that the film will be produced under canon production meaning that it is expected to finish adapting the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc.
That is the ongoing story arc, with the same cast from the series reprising their roles.
As per a report by Anime Geek, the anime series had roughly adapted up to chapter 273 in the manga by the time it concluded in March 2021.
As of October 2022, 338 chapters have now been published across 32 volumes, with 58 chapters presently making up the remaining story from the Spade Kingdom Raid arc.
