In the main event of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 48, John Dodson fought against JR Ridge with the inaugural flyweight championship at stake. From the beginning of this fight, Dodson circled around Ridge and threw several hard blows before Ridge was dropped to the canvas. Although Ridge complained that he was shoved and his eye was poked, the doctor allowed the match to continue. Following this incident, the fighters engaged in violent altercation and despite best attempts of Ridge, he failed to avoid punches by Dodson. Ultimately, Ridge was once again knocked down and after failing to get up, he lost the fight by KO.
