The alleged video of Babban Singh Raghuvanshi has gone viral on Twitter/X
In Uttar Pradesh, a contentious video purportedly depicting BJP leader Babban Singh Raghuvanshi acting inappropriately toward an orchestra girl has sparked a political uproar.

The video, which Samajwadi Party leader Pankaj Rajbhar posted on social media, allegedly shows the former Rasara (Ballia) BJP Assembly candidate Babban Singh Raghuvanshi in a compromising position with a woman at what looks to be a public gathering.
With other people in the background, the video shows the woman sitting on the lap of Babban Singh Raghuvanshi while he kisses and inappropriately touches her.

The matter is of Durgipur, where the marriage procession of the village head had gone to Bihar a few days ago. Babban Singh Raghuvanshi had also participated in the marriage procession and during this, as soon as the female dancer came near Babban Singh Raghuvanshi, he made her sit on his lap and started doing obscene acts.
Babban Singh Raghuvanshi is the vice-chairman of The Kisan Sahakari Mill-Rasra in Ballia and has been associated with BJP for a long time and had also contested elections from Bansdih Vidhan Sabha seat on a BJP ticket in 1993.
The viral video is said to be about 20-25 days old, which is from a wedding ceremony in Bihar. However, the veracity of the video can’t be confirmed as of yet.
In the case of SP leader Nawab Singh Yadav last year, the Media houses were busy gathering TRP, but are silent on Babban Singh Raghuvanshi, even though he is intentionally and knowingly outraging the modesty of a woman.

Opposition leaders reacted sharply to the video right away. While sharing the video on X, Pankaj Rajbhar called out the BJP politician for hypocrisy, claiming that people who often give lectures on Indian culture and morality were engaging in same behaviour themselves.
The incident was also denounced by Congress leader Surendra Rajput, who compared it to the BJP’s public position on women’s dignity and called it disgraceful. Rajput eventually removed his critical post, though. Babban, who is currently the chairman of Rasara Sugar Mi and ran in the 1993 UP Assembly elections, told the media that the viral video was shot at a wedding in Bihar after it went viral. He claimed that in order to damage his reputation, the video was spread by local MLA Ketki Singh and her spouse.
Babban Singh’s accusations were denied by Bansdih MLA Ketki Singh by saying, that Babban Singh is of the age of her father. People have elected them for development and she is not involved in such a conspiracy. She does not even know what is in the video, but no one can force her to make a video. Everyone knows about Babban Singh and what he speaks and does.
The husband of Bansdih BJP MLA Ketki Singh was also present at that wedding and BJP leader Babban has alleged that an attempt has been made to tarnish his image at the behest of Ketki Singh. He also called himself a relative of UP government minister Daya Shankar Singh and said that is why he is being framed.
Although Babban Singh acknowledged that he was present at the wedding, he maintained that the video was a fabrication. He said, “I have years of experience in politics. I’m seventy years old. I attended this wedding and handed the dancer some cash. The purpose of this utterly fraudulent video is to damage my political reputation.”
