The next thing you knew, TikTok had normalcy under control, hammering the mundane into submission and ‘oh my cod’ converting Binley Mega Chippy into an internet celebrity.
It all began when a random British TikTok user named binleymegachippyfan53 made a song about the takeaway business. The amusing yet very irritating sound repeatedly repeats the phrase “Binley Mega Chippy” in the style of a kid’s TV theme music.

It quickly went viral, with over 700,000 views, and Brits from all over the country are flocking to the Coventry cafe and filming films about it.

Binley Mega Chippy has everything you’d expect from a traditional British chip store, plus a lot more. Menu photos show that the Coventry eatery not only serves fish and chips, but also kebabs, southern fried chicken, and burgers.
All of your chippy favourites are available, including cod, haddock, roe, scampi, fishcake, battered sausage, Pukka pies, and saveloys. A portion of chips costs ยฃ1.95 for regular size or ยฃ2.95 for big size.
There are also lamb and chicken kebabs ranging from ยฃ3 to ยฃ6 and southern fried chicken dishes ranging from ยฃ1 to ยฃ3.50. In addition, chicken and beef burgers, meat pasties, chicken wings, and even scallops are available. There are also some unusual menu items, such as battered mushrooms, battered beef, and pineapple fritters.
The most renowned item, however, is the ‘Morbius Meal,’ which includes fish and chips, mushy peas, and a can of drink for ยฃ4.99.
Tiktok Owner Reacts To Fame
“I have no idea what occurred,” Binley Mega Chippy owner Kamal Gandhi told The Guardian.
“On Thursday, things started to become crowded, and I noticed people taking photographs out front.” ‘What are they doing?’ I thought. ‘We presume a local who enjoys the meal composed the song, and it’s just gone viral,’ he added.
Kamal went on to say that they aren’t “complaining” about becoming a global meme, but that they are scared that they “won’t be able to deal” with the demand.
What Else Happened?
Devotees and converts from all across the UK are now making their way to the Coventry eatery on a pickled egg pilgrimage and saveloy sojourn.
They are among the hundreds of thousands of people who have seen TikTok videos praising the location, with a song about it guaranteeing the company is not a tiny fry.
On Monday, hundreds of people were in line at the location, including a group that claimed to have chartered a minibus from Scotland. Others claimed to have travelled from Norwich, Liverpool, Gloucester, and London.
Some have sung a passionate paean for their food, releasing mournful words into the Coventry air.
