This story started with a procession at a friend’s wedding that a young man named Gulshan attended. At the wedding, a girl named Paro Aarti was dancing while an orchestra played. Gulshan was mesmerized by Paro Aarti’s movements and made a startling move. He ascended the platform, filled the vermilion with Paro Aarti’s request, and pronounced her his bride.

Everything happened so fast that nobody could make sense of it. Gulshan’s move was genuinely rare in Bihar, where weddings are solemnized with rites. The news circulated widely as the incident’s video went popular on social media. Others criticized Gulshan’s action for going against social standards, while others praised it. In general, society has a negative opinion of girls who play in orchestras. As a result, some thought Gulshan’s choice was audacious.

Following Gulshan’s father’s statement, Paro Aarti also spoke up. She released a video in response to her father-in-law. “My name is Paro Aarti,” she stated in the video. Some members of the media visited my in-laws’ home a few days ago. The father-in-law informed the reporter that I am already married after visiting the in-laws’ home. You provide evidence of my marital status if I was already married.” she added.
