Big Ramy is a well-known Egyptian professional bodybuilder. He has been in the news because he recently came 5th in the annual Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition.
His real name is Mamdouh Mohammed Hassan Elssbiay. He was born on September 16, 1984, in Al-Sebea, Kafr El Sheikh, Egypt. He has married two times. Big Ramy currently has a wife, Marwa, with three daughters and this marriage would mark his second wife (both active marriages) with his first wife not aware of his second marriage at the time.
His height is 5 ft 9 inches or 175 cm and his weight is 295 lbs or 134 kg. He is currently 38 years old. Big Ramy has a net worth of $10 million.
His Career
Before beginning his professional training, Big Ramy worked as a fisherman in Kuwait. Three years after he began training, he obtained his pro card by taking home the overall prize at the 2012 Amateur Olympia in Kuwait City.
He joined Kuwait’s Oxygen Gym in 2010. He won the 2013 New York Pro, where he made his IFBB Pro debut. He won the Mr. Olympia title in 2020.
He tested positive for COVID-19 in October 2020, disqualifying him from competing in the 2020 Europa Pro Bodybuilding Championships. Later, in 2021, he won the Mr. Olympia title once more.
In addition to this, he won the 2013 and 2014 New York Pro Championship titles, the 2015 Arnold Classic Brazil title, the 2016 IFBB Kuwait Pro title, and the 2017 Arnold Classic Europe title.
