In the Big Bash League championship match, Perth Scorchers defeated Brisbane Heat by five wickets on Saturday thanks in large part to Ashton Turner’s captain’s knock.
Turner hit a 32-ball 53 while attempting to chase a 176-run mark, earning the match’s captain some recognition for his efforts.
Perth Scorchers won the BBL 2022-23 for the fifth time, surpassing Sydney Sixers’ four championships and becoming the Big Bash League’s most successful side as a result of the victory.

The Perth Scorchers have competed in seven finals and won four titles prior to the Big Bash League (BBL) 2022–23 championship game.
Despite Perth Scorchers being the odds-on favourite to win the championship, Brisbane’s 175/7 total in 20 overs kept the game close.
Before McSweeney took over as anchor, Josh Brown and Heazlett made a strong opening. Max Bruant made some hits down the order to raise the score to a difficult total.
The beginning of the chase for the total by Stephen Eskinazi and Cameron Bancroft went well, but they were unable to hang around for too long.
By the eighth over, Perth Scorchers were trailing by 54/3, and it wasn’t until Turner that the team started to rally. Turner began to build the total before being removed, and Nick Hobson and Cooper Connolly completed the task in the last over.
